The price goes for 41,000 naira
Tecno Boom J8 is a nearly perfect smartphone and for once I honestly cannot think of a single element that is missing from it.

You can’t help but feel sorry for users of Tecno Boom J7. One would expect a minor upgrade with the Boom J8, but it is created to capture a modern design language paired with frankly impressive specs that crushes other smartphones within the same price range.
Pricxe of Tecno Boom J8 Full Specification and features
The large, curved edged, sexy smartphone is undeniably beautiful, but there is still a lot to be said for the flat-screened device. Let’s find out what makes Tecno’ Boom J8 a stealer device.
Design & Display
Strangely, Tecno Boom J8 is characteristically thin, although not too thin to complete against the world’s slimmest smartphones. The device brings a new design language that mimics the iPhone 6S Plus. Except for the Apple logo and the antenna lining missing at the back of the device, it could easily be mistaken to be a pure breed Apple smartphone. The phone does an excellent job in its choice of the speaker’s placement and sound is powered by Max Audio technology which I found pretty cool. The headphone socket placement is at the top, like most smartphone currently available in Nigeria. The volume controls and power button are on the right, just like the previous incarnations.
On the front, the 5MP selfie shooter is easily spotted, and it’s paired with soft flash at the top right. The dual SIM and MicroSD card port are revealed when you remove the back cover. The Battery is sealed, can’t be removed and it is rated 3000mAh.
Display:
Visually the screen on the phone is stunning. While it is not Full HD, the HD IPS panel with 1080 x 720 resolution does a pretty nice job with multimedia and gaming. Being an upper-mid-range smartphone, there is absolutely nothing to complain about the screen aspect, although I would have appreciated a tinnier bezel.
Software And Performance
Frankly, I expected Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box, but it’s the 5.1 Lollipop OS that rocks the phone. An update to the latest Android OS should start rolling any moment from now, however.
Tecno introduced its custom User Interface based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS called HiOS. The Boom J8 looks like the iPhone and the new UX is pronounced like iOS, a coincidence?
The HiOS comes with a lot of tweaks that manages to add to user’s experience, rather than cause a distraction. It comes with a clean notification tray that gives you instant access to quick settings.
HiOS gives user’s ability to customize their devices in ways never imagined. You can change the theme, the font as well customize your power settings. The Boom Player V2.1 sits comfortably on the HiOS showing its raw power. There are enormous settings available to suit your music experience.
Also, creating folders on the HiOS take a dramatic twist; it is quite different from traditional methods but won’t take time to get used to it.
Performance:
Interestingly, the Antutu benchmark test reveals the state of the phone and it’s just under 32,000.
Tecno Boom J8 comes with 16 GB on-board storage which can be expanded via microSD card.
Camera
One of the biggest practical changes with the Boom J8 from its predecessor has been with the camera, which has been dramatically increased to 13MP, against 8.0MP on the J7.
The Camera app doesn’t provide full manual mode but it still does a nice job with its predefined settings. I expect OEM’s to start riding on the success of smarpthones that offer manual camera mode feature; this could be a reality on the next Tecno Camon smartphone. I have my fingers crossed on this one.
Battery Life
Android is a battery drainer, over the last few years OEM’s have put in several effort in designing an efficient User Interface that uses less power. I think the HiOS succeeded in this aspect, despite the Boom J8 having what many will call a “small” 3000mAh battery. It doesn’t discharge like a waterfall.
